A Post Female Chorus

Workshop | 17.–18. Oktober 2026 | Westwerk Hamburg

Für A Post Female Chorus werden ca. 12 Künstlerinnen, Musikerinnen und queere Kulturschaffende** aus Hamburg gesucht.

Der Workshop ist Teil eines künstlerischen Rechercheprojekts zu chorischen Formen, feministischer Praxis und der Frage, was eine kollektive Stimme sein kann.

Ausgangspunkt ist der Chor – nicht als disziplinierte Einheit, sondern als ein Ort, an dem Differenz, Widerspruch und Vielstimmigkeit hörbar werden. Was geschieht, wenn der Chor nicht nach Harmonie strebt, sondern Resonanzen, Reibungen und unterschiedliche Stimmen zulässt?

Gemeinsam mit Mona Steinwidder, Mira Mann und Lisa Pottstock arbeiten wir mit Stimme, Körper, Text und Bewegung. Somatische Praxis, chorische Experimente, Improvisation und performative Komposition bilden den Ausgangspunkt für eine gemeinsame Untersuchung von Stimme als etwas, das sich zwischen individuellen Körpern und kollektiven Prozessen bewegt.

Der Workshop ist zugleich Teil einer künstlerischen Recherche und eine Einladung, Künstlerinnen* und queere Kulturschaffende aus Hamburg zusammenzubringen – zum gemeinsamen Arbeiten, Nachdenken und Ausprobieren.

Teilnahme

Der Workshop richtet sich an Künstlerinnen*, Musikerinnen* und queere Kulturschaffende aus Hamburg und Umgebung. Vorkenntnisse in Chorarbeit oder Gesang sind nicht erforderlich.

Da die Gruppe auf etwa 12 Personen begrenzt ist, freuen wir uns über eine kurze Interessensbekundung.

Bitte sendet bis 7. September 2026 eine kurze Mail mit einigen Sätzen zu euch und eurem Interesse am Workshop. Wenn ihr mögt, könnt ihr auch etwas zu eurer künstlerischen Praxis schreiben.

Die Auswahl erfolgt nicht nach Qualifikation. Entscheidend ist eine Gruppe mit unterschiedlichen Erfahrungen, Perspektiven und Arbeitsweisen.

* Das Sternchen versteht „Künstlerinnen“ als offene Kategorie und richtet die Einladung an alle Personen, die sich im Kontext dieser Recherche angesprochen fühlen.

Museum of No Art

Mona Steinwidder works at the intersection of music, performance, sound art, and artistic research. Her practice brings together experimental music, collective listening practices, and performative formats.

Under her alter ego Museum of No Art, she develops interdisciplinary music projects with a focus on experimental concert formats and alternative forms of collective listening.
Her work often emerges through collaborative processes and moves between music, performance, installation, and site-specific formats.

Since 2020, she has been releasing music as Museum of No Art on international experimental labels such as Séance Centre, Cosima Pitz, Mondoij and Dispari.Her music moves between fragile, open-ended compositions and experimental instrumental music. Reduced, at times minimalist structures meet a finely tuned sensitivity to texture, friction, and the subtle shifts between composition and improvisation.

Based on the concept of site-specific music the art centre HET HEM in Amsterdam
invites musicians to create new works in response to the building,
a distinct entity with its volume, aesthetics, and history.
During my stay at Het HEM, I recorded source material for a six-track EP,
both using the building as a source and going into dialogue with it.

MANUAL is a guide of nonsense; a set of rules impossible to follow; a number of instructions not to be fulfilled; a bridge between processes that take place beyond consciousness; a conspiracy that has a beginning and an end. MANUAL was created as a collaborative piece with a concept and words by Mitko Mitkov and music contributions by Museum of No Art, Ubaldo, Jonas Hinnerkort and Philomena Lauprecht. Every piece of music on this album is an interpretation, a reaction and in a way a subversive soundtrack to a set of texts providing instructions on how to deal with a world falling apart. The piece was originally released on a Telegram channel between the 1st and 31st of August 2022.

This can be heard there every day during the opening hours in an open space
in the heart of the building known as the "Freiraum", which is accessible free of charge.
